سرتیپ دوم محمد علی نوری نژاد در سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی خدمت می کند و سمت ارشد در نیروهای انتظامی را نیز دارد. او بیشتر بخاطر تسهیل در سرکوب تظاهرات کنندگان در ماه نوامبر سال ۲۰۱۹ میلادی شناخته میشود که به مرگ صدها شهروند ایرانی منجر شد. نوری نژاد از نیروهای انتظامی برای اقدامات آنها در طول اعتراضات قدردانی کرد و افزود که تظاهرات کنندگان «شورشیان و اشرار» را توصیف کرد.
ایالات متحده آمریکا اعلام کرده است که اعتراضات صلحآمیز با رفتار خشونت آمیز و آزار روانی از رژیم اسلامی روبرو شدند.
وزیر وزارت خزانه داری آمریکا استیون منوچین اعلام کرد که «ایالات متحده همچنان مقامهای ایرانی که مردم خود را ستم می کنند و به آنها آزار می رسانند، مسئول خواهیم داشت.»

Background
Mohammad Ali Noorinajad is a Brigadier in the IRGC and works as a senior official for Iran's Law Enforcement Forces (LEF). He is possibly most renowned for facilitating the crackdown on protestors in November 2019 which reportedly led to the deaths of hundreds of Iranian citizens. Noorinajad publically praised the LEF for its actions during the protests and described the protestors as rebels and villains.
The US stated that peaceful protests were met with violent physical and psychological abuse by the Iranian regime.
The Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin stated “The United States will continue to hold accountable Iranian officials and institutions that oppress and abuse their own people.”
